First Snowdrop

Snowdrop
I  must have some of the laziest snowdrops ever but finally this morning my first one appeared.  These are the ones I planted last September.  Just waiting for my crocuses now .....

  1. They are a bit lazy aren't they - mine have been out since early Jan and my crocuses are well on their way too.

Totally worth the wait though, snowdrops are just so beautiful. Hope they last a bit longer for you to enjoy.

  2. I googled this and it seems the delay is down to the extreme frosts we have been experiencing lately:

Can't understand why mine came out on time though because it was flipping cold here in the East Mids just before Christmas!

  3. Thanks for that! Thing is, other people's snowdrops and crocuses have been out for weeks around our way. I must have just got a sleepy batch of bulbs.

  4. It could be that because yours were only planted last autumn, they haven't become established yet, hence the late flowering. We've had snowdrops out for a few weeks and the crocuses (croci??) started last week or so.
