When beads go bad!

Sometimes you think you've got beads in a nice colour combination cooking away in the kiln and then you eagerly open the kiln after hours of waiting for the beads to cool and . . . . . . bleurgh! What you thought was going to be lovely light brown and pale blue ends up being insipid yellow and washed-out aqua. Horrid!

Aren't these nasty?!

  1. Am I wrong to really like these laura?! I really think you're being too harsh on yourself! They still look gorgeous to me!

  3. Laura, these are delicate and lovely! Not bleurgh, and definitely not nasty! They might not be what you expected, but they are very nice! It's a good job we all have different tastes! Lynne x

  4. They look retro, dead 70s if you ask me - don't discount them, I reckon (as with everything else!) they'll last about 3 and a half minutes if you post them!

  5. Janine - no of course you're not wrong to like them. They're just not what I had in mind.

Beards(!) - You know I can't help being a crazy perfectionist but I promise I won't smash them up! :o)

Lynne - Yep, just because I don't like them doesn't mean others won't but like I said on the phone to you I find it really hard to sell things that I'm not 100% happy with.

Rach - they are quite retro, aren't they?

I won't sell these on my site but if anyone wants to email me with an offer maybe I'll sell them that way. Just an idea?!

  6. They look all right to me - I'm sure they can be made into something lovely! Bet they don't last the day and will have a new home by tonight.

  7. Cheers Caroline!

Well, the beads have gone. I've traded them for one of Lynne's gorgeous earring kits that I've been ogling for several weeks now. Fab!
