Good Day

Today has been a good day! It's been sunny but not too hot which made for an excellent beadmaking climate this morning.

This afternoon I went to the dentist (you know how much I loathe going to the dentist) for a check-up and all was good! To celebrate this fact I bought a pair of lovely new shoes - metallic rose gold wedges. Any excuse to buy footwear . . . . .

When I got home I decided to go and sit in the garden with a cup of tea and read for an hour or so which was nice, even if Buster did keep pestering me by wanting to sit on my lap. And yes, my new shoes came and sat with me too. Don't you just love having new shoes? I was the same as a kid. Mum and Dad would buy me new school shoes from Clarks and I'd wear them all weekend. And just as good were the shoe boxes - totally brilliant for turning into spaceships, vehicles and buildings for my Star Wars figures. Oh yes, I've always been a Star Wars geek . . . . .

  3. pretty pretty shoes, fab for the summer as they'll go with everything!

I remember getting Clarks shoes as a kid too, but not as fondly as you! Remember how they used to measure the width of your feet, well mine were very narrow and there was always just one style of shoe per school term that would fit me and it was always the ugliest shoe you could imagine, one year it was a brogue-style affair called 'Tracy' and when my mum bought them I cried my eyes out as I wanted the pretty t-bar shoes like all the other girls, 'Tracy' shoes looked like they should have been given free on the NHS!! I think that is why I have a shoe obsession now, there are always plenty of beautiful shoes in a size 4!!

  4. I do like their go-with-everythingness.

Ha! Joanne, your Clarks trauma made me giggle. I know the type of shoe that you're talking about! But hey, you're getting your own back now. I'm a size 7 (sometimes an 8 depending on the shoe/shop) and so many places just don't seem to cater for size 7 up. Sizes 3 to 6 always seem to be in stock. Schuh always have perfectly lovely shoes but hardly ever in my size! So you may have only had the 'Tracy' shoes as a child but you've certainly got your pick of fabulous footwear now!
