Sadness

I haven't made beads or posted in quite a while. The reasons for this are sad ones.

At the end of June, Chris and I had to say goodbye to our dear old cat Nigel. In the same week my lovely dad was diagnosed with cancer.

Since that week it's been absolute hell, to be honest. There's been so much sadness and grief.

There still is.

My wonderful dad died at home on Monday 7th September. It was 78 days from his first diagnostic test until his death. That's an awfully short amount of time. My sisters and I looked after Dad in his home which has meant that I've been spending a lot of time in Southampton, hence my quietness.

It's been a battle to get through each day since the end of June. It's all just been a blur. I feel like I'm on autopilot and even doing simple tasks like going to the shop for milk feels like I'm having an out of body experience. And we're still in the midst of it all because Dad's funeral isn't for a couple of weeks yet.

I will get back to the beads at some point; Dad asked me to carry on with them.

That's all I can type for now.

Speak soon.
