Spring zing

I've been making more petal beads. The photographs don't show off their depth very well so these are definite better-in-real-life beads.

I thought I'd try combining the petals with an implosion and ta-da! Petalplosions!

I love these. Yellow implosion centres, white layered petals and a touch of bright green for a bit of springtime zing.

All of the beads pictured are currently available as pairs over in my shop.

In non-bead news, I think I'm just about used to my varifocals now. I went and had a little frame adjustment which made a big difference so hurrah for that. I had to have a chipped and cracked tooth fixed with a composite filling on Thursday and now I'm getting used to a slightly new bite. I'm also getting over some kind of lurgy that I caught from Chris. It's most odd - just a really bad cough and a slightly sore throat with a general feeling of headachy worn-out-ness. Not really a cold, possibly mild Covid? Whatever, the cough is no longer making me sound like a honking goose so that's a bonus. Honestly, eyes, teeth, cough lurg... I'm falling apart here.

Anyway, I finished my green socks:

These are Summer Lee's August Colorwork Cuff Club pattern. They're knitted in Drops Nord in shades 10 and 01.

It's such a beautiful day here. It's fresh and a little chilly but the sun is shining, the bumble bees are bumbling about and the birds are chirping. Leaves are unfurling everywhere and the cherry trees are blossoming all over the place.

This is my favourite local tree. If you stand underneath it all you can hear are umpteen bees and pollinators buzzing amongst its flowers. It's so nice to just take a moment and listen to them going about their business.

Long time, no type

The last time I posted here (let's not discuss how long ago that was) I was telling you how I couldn't run because I was injured.

Well, since then I've got myself un-injured, turned forty, bought new running shoes, restarted and completed Couch to 5K, run two parkruns, have achieved a sub-30 minute 5K, run a 6.5K, and got injured again! This time it's my groin and it's on the mend so I hope to be back out running and working my way up to a 10K soon.

I've also completed my first year of university and will be starting my second year in February. It's going to be a lot of work and I'm pretty apprehensive about it, to be honest. I'm filled with all the self-doubt and "I don't think I can do this" about it but I shall see how it goes.

And obviously I'm still making beads because that is what I do. The 'Blackcurrant & Mango' ones at the top and just above are the most recent and I'm a bit in love with the colour combination.

I've also made a few Anemone beads which I've turned into necklaces.

It's now time for a cheese and pickle sandwich (I tried Branston pickle for the first time ever over Christmas and I am now obsessed with the stuff) and then I'm heading shedwards.

Implosions

Yo! I've not blogged for a few days as I've got a bad cold and I've generally felt like not doing much but lying under a blanket on the sofa making "Nuuuurrrggh" sounds whilst coughing my spleen up and swearing at Chris for passing on his germs to me.

As such, I've not made many beads but the ones I have made have all been my 'Anemone' implosion ones.

My personal favourite from my most recent batch of Anemone pendants is this 'Sky' one. It matches my beloved Cambridge Satchel Company satchel perfectly.

I'm a bit obsessed with things matching my satchel. My Doc Martens do, my summer shoes do, sometimes my nail varnish does and the next pair of Cons I buy will too. I will be known as 'The Woman Who Matches Stuff To Her Satchel Woman", which is fine by me.

There are a few Anemone necklaces left in the shop. Each pendant is strung on a twenty inch sterling silver ball chain. Anemone necklaces are £18.00 each.
