Earring Pairs

Hello you! Did you have a good weekend?
I had a bit of a busy Bank Holiday weekend and as such I only have these few beads to show you. These silvered ivory and fine silver earring pairs are for sale over in my Etsy shop as I type .....
Eagle-eyed readers may notice that if you click my blog header a different web address appears in your browser bar. That new URL is www.beadsbylaurablog.com and it is my new blog address. Fear not, you don't have to change a thing as Blogger will redirect the old address to this new one so the transition should be nice and smooth for you. New Video : Encased Silver Wire Bead

I thought it was about time I did another video for you but this time it's a little different. For a start you see me - me and my face actually talking to you as opposed to just my hands making beads!

The video shows you how I add fine silver wire to a bead and then encase it. I've had various emails recently about how to fix silver wire to a bead, when and how to encase it and where to buy silver wire. I'm hoping that this little movie answers your questions. If you like the video (which I hope you do) I will make some more. Just let me know if there are any lampworking techniques that you'd like me to demonstrate for you and I'll see what I can do.

I've not got much to say except that I am all beaded out for today. Lots of beads made, cleaned, photographed and sold. Big huge thanks to everyone who bought (and tried to buy) tonight's glassy offerings. You're all fab!

'Apple Glimmer' Nuggets

I was going to re-photograph these in sunlight today but alas, the day is grey and nothingy.

These nuggets are a fresh yellow green and because the glass I used was silver rich they have a kind of ethereal misty feeling to them. The sunlight photos would have shown this off a bit better but that's not to be.

I also added some droplets of fine silver and then encased the whole lot in crystal clear glass for depth and sparkle.

'Geology'

These light brown and grey beads are decorated with bands of silvered ivory and tiny droplets of fine silver all encapsulated in a layer of clear glass. Subtle but pretty.

These will be for sale in the usual place at 8.30pm (UK time) tomorrow night.

Sparkly Loveliness

Droplets of fine silver upon rich blues and subtle blue-greens, encapsulated in crystal clear glass for depth and sparkle. Delicious!

'Atlantis'

These striking beads consist of swirls and swathes of various blues along with some fine silver inclusions. I've wrapped them all in a layer of transparent pale blue glass which has given them an amazing depth and sparkle. These are true glass gems!

'Sea Sparkle'

Think of a sunny day down by the sea. Picture the sunlight twinkling on the little waves and ripples of the water. Now imagine scooping a handful of that loveliness up and rolling it into a ball and you've just about imagined the effect I was going for with these beads.

Gorgeous transparent blue frit and tiny little specks of fine silver suspended in sparkly clear glass. Prettiness!
