'Crystal'

Lampwork Glass BeadsAfter a couple of days of intensive Cupcake beadmaking I unwound by making these simple clear beads. You can't get much more un-complex than some spacers and a couple of hearts but sometimes unfussy, plain beads are good. Good to make, good to look at and good to create jewellery with.

  3. They're lovely, Laura! I guess you got some more Vetrofond eventually then! I got an order a couple of days ago, when I went to put the old Vetrofond clear with the new, the new stuff is much "whiter" if you know what I mean making the old stock look "dirty". I wonder if they've reformulated it and that's why there was none available for so long. The beads made with the new stock look the same to my eye though. I also ordered some CIM clear, it's a little more expensive but when you compare their rods with Vetrofond, they are almost totally free of surface blemishes and look extremely clean. I am hoping CIM clear glass won't crack on me when I'm encasing CIM colours (I had a real problem with that last year as I think I mentioned at the time when you did your encasing tutorial).

  5. Sue - nope. This isn't Vetrofond or CiM. This is Precsion 104 Diamond Clear. (Sounds like that M&S ad!)

I've tried the CiM clear but it needs to be worked very cool or it will go foggy.
