Beads and stuff

My goodness, last week was one of those weeks where nothing seemed to go right. Amongst other things, one of my guinea pigs, Lisa, died. She was one of the younger two and the vet and I have no idea what was wrong with her. Very sad.

But hey, I'll keep it light.

I've been having a warm indoors day today. My feet froze yesterday and the walk to and from Slimming World finished them off. I haven't been able to get my foots properly warm since! So I've been inside the house, cleaning and photographing beads and playing with Mister Nigel.

Nigel seems to like the snow. He was a bit unsure of it at first but he keeps asking to go outside and then he runs around like a maniac for about three minutes and when I open the back door to let him in, he skids into the lounge, across the laminate floor and greets me with a "Brrrrrmmmiaaow!"

Anyway, yes, beads. I've strung and sorted the orange and pink beads at the top of this post into sets and they're on the Freshly Baked Beads page. There is also a large strand of Lonelies beads waiting for a new home as well.

And lots of you seemed to like the etched heart beads sets I made last week so I have made some of them available for ordering. There are currently five colours to choose from and each set of thirteen beads costs £20.00. All the details can be found here.

'Crystal & Garnet'

Not actual factual crystal and garnet; just glass.

I adore this red. It is just a proper reddy-red red.

'Frost'

There's a nip in the air and it's made me want to make icy-chilly-wintry beads. So TA-DA! These 'Frost' beads are on the Freshly Baked Beads page now and I've also made them available for ordering. These would be perfect for seasonal designs.

If it's good enough for DFS ...

... then it's good enough for me. Last night I saw the most overly-Christmassy DFS television advert. They seem determined to make the whole of the UK buy a new sofa in time for Christmas. I moaned on Twitter about the ridiculously far-too-early nature of the advert and then I realised I'd made a set of Christmassy beads on Wednesday. I have an excuse, though; I have to make the beads so that you can buy them, work your jewellery magic with them and then get them sold or given in time for Chrimbletide.

So yeah, I think I get away with it.

Those simple-yet-pretty 'Festive' spacers up there are now available for ordering on my Beads To Order page. There are a dozen in the strand and they cost £12.00 including worldwide delivery.

Poppies To Order

Lots of you have sent me lovely comments about the 'Poppies' beads that I posted the other day.  I do realise that at fifty quid a strand they are quite expensive, so I decided to make them available as single lentils and also as pendants.

I've also added some red and black spacer beads to the ordering page too.

The single lentils are £9.00 each, the pendants are £12.00 a piece and the spacers are £6.50 per strand. All prices include worldwide postage and they are all available to order right here.

Quick note about ordering beads

I'm going to have a little break from the bead orders for a while.  I need to complete the ones I have and then I'm going to have myself a little stint of making-the-beads-I-want-to-make beads.  It's not that I don't appreciate your orders - I really really do but I just need a little breather.  I also need a little bit of time to try out new ideas and designs.

If you'd like to order beads - and yes, do please order away - you'll need to do so by Friday 11th March and I will get them made as soon as I can.
  

The Beads To Order page won't be going away for good.  It will return in a couple of months.

New weekend, new beads

Wow - you lot seem to be loving the 'Candy Cupcake' bracelet!  Thanks for all your lovely comments and an extra big thank you to everybody who has blogged, tweeted and Facebooked about my giveaway.  You're all gems.

I was a little worried that I would never be able to make a set of these again because last year I finished the last of the orange glass that I used to use for these.  It was an Effetre coral oddlot that I bought a big stash of about five years ago.  But hurrah! I have found a replacement colour that does the job beautifully.

These beads seem pretty appropriate for the current January weather.  We haven't had any storms here but the sky is moody.  It's blue with touches of grey and quite frankly it looks like it's in a bit of a strop.
